K/K notes 1st March 2003
KILCORMAC'S ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE
BEST OVERALL TROPHY PLUS 300EURO PRIZEMONEY – At a meeting of the organizing committee it was proposed and seconded that a prize of 300Euro would be given to the overall winner of the 2003 St. Patrick's Day Parade in Kilcormac, along with the Overall Trophy. It is hoped that the generous prizemoney will generate more entries not just from Kilcormac Killoughey but from outside the parish also.
As in previous years, the parade is being organised under the umbrella of the Kilcormac Development Association. A subcommittee with Joe Coleman as co-ordinator, will run the parade on the day.
Due to extra insurance costs and other outlays, it is hoped that the business people of the town will subscribe as generously as heretofore.
This weeks Church Gate Collection amounted to 625.31Euro. The Committee wishes to thank most sincerely all the people who subscribed to the collection.

A representative from The Midland Health Board will attend and give a talk on Health and Fitness and refreshments will be served.
KILCORMAC SUMMER CAMP
At a recent meeting of the free Kilcormac Summer Camp, sponsored by Pat and Bernie Troy, the committee were informed that the sponsors wishes the 2003 camp to be limited to 200 children, thus trying to keep the costs in line with the 2002 camp.
It was agreed that the first 200 children enrolled would be accepted, i.e. first come, first served basis.
A letter will be issued to each child from age 7 to 6th class inclusive, in the Kilcormac/Killoughey parish schools, in the first or second week, after the school resumes following their Easter holidays. This letter will inform the children of the enrolment dates, which it is hoped, will probably be early May 2003.
On enrolment, the parents will be asked to give the week their child can attend, therefore it is expected parents will know their family holidays and arrangements of transport to and from the Community Centre. This date cannot be changed, so it is important to have arrangements made with other families, if applicable, regarding transport etc. at the date of enrolment.
Once again, the committee are appealing to parents, father and mothers or any other adult family ember, to offer their help.
Please feel free to contact any member of the committee if you would like to offer your help with the 2003 camp.
The committee are as follows; Kathleen Troy Chairperson, Carmel Gilligan Vice Chairperson, Geraldine Murphy Secretary, Pascaline Hunt Asst. Sec., Mary Gorman Treas., Helen Daly Asst. Treas., Patricia Mahon PRO, Teresa Bracken, Ann Molloy, Mary Molloy, Regina Spain, Jackie Flynn, Dolores Slevin;, Deirdre Quinn, Bridget Guinan Donna Quinn, Patsy Nevin.

Unfortunately, the representatives of the Club did not qualify for the Leinster semi-finals, but they put on a great show in the various competitions. Great credit is due to all who took part and to the organiser Lorraine Wynne. As usual, we believe Mrs. Attracta Dooley, The Midland Bar, stole the show with her recitation. Well done to all, and better luck next time.
