Kilcormac finally got the cafe it was waiting for today with the opening of Sheena’s Cafe. Owned and operated by Stephen and Maggie Connolly, the cafe provides a much needed place in the middle of the town for people to meet and relax.
Maggie (Charles) is well known to us locally and Stephen, a native of Tullamore is a familiar face also. Stephen has quite a bit of experience in the hospitality trade and they had planned on opening their own business. Having seen a gap in the market for a place to open in Kilcormac they decided to pursue the opportunity. After attending meetings organised by Kilcormac Development Association, and further feedback from locals confirmed the need for a cafe in the town, they decided to go ahead and develop the plan. Located in the old O’Sullivan’s premises, the cafe is right on the main street and brings a welcome update to the town. It is open 7 days a week serving Java republic coffee and a range of hot food and snacks.
The walls of the cafe boast pictures and artwork from local artist including a drawing of Christina, Maggies sister whom the cafe is named after.
