Kilcormac Playschol re-opens on Monday, 6th September at 9.30a.m.
Kilcormac Afterschools opens also on Monday 6th September, at 2.00p.m,
and all children from 5yrs. to 12yrs. welcome.
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WIN
Congratulations to Lorraine Regan who returned this week from taking
part in the Field Events in the World Junior Championship Games in
the Czech Republic. Lorraine, daughter of Michael and Josie Regan,
Kinnitty Road, Kilcormac returned with Gold in Shot, Bronze in Javelin
and Bronze in Discus. Lorraine is on the Irish Paralympics Team, and
they have their sights set on London 2012 and Lorraine would like
if she could get some more training in these events and wonders if
there is anyone out there who would take her on and help her out.
KILCORMAC RAMBLERS
All travelling on the Ramblers weekend away to Bettystown, Co. Meath
this weekend are advised that the bus will leave The Square, Kilcormac
on this Fri. morning 3rd Sept. at 10.00a.m. Hopefully the weather
will remain nice and sunny and all will have a very pleasant and safe
weekend.
ARD DARA WALKING CLUB
Ard Dara Walking Club are celebrating their 10th anniversary in Cadamstown
on Sunday 12th September. Anyone wishing to travel from Kilcormac
can avail of a bus which will collect in The Square at 4.45p.m. Bus
will return from Cadamstown at 8.00p.m.

the recent death of Jimmy Fryday.
KILCORMAC WOMENS GROUP
Kilcormac Women’s Group are back after the summer break, and
will meet on Tues. 7th September in the Community Centre, Kilcormac
at 8.00p.m. New members will be very welcome.
CHIROPODIST
The Chiropodist will be in attendance at the Community Centre, Kilcormac
on Tues. 14th September, from 10.00a.m. The Chiropodist will also
be in attendance in the afternoon of that day, so to avoid a long
delay for clients it would be advisable for some to go in the afternoon.
TIR NA NOG
Tir na Nog meetings will resume in the Community Centre, Kilcormac
on this Thursday 2nd September at 2.30p.m. It is hoped to have a good
attendance with lots of new faces.
PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP.
Ri Ra Parent and Toddler Group returns to St. Joseph’s Community
Centre, Kilcormac on Thurs, 9th Sept. from 11.00a.m., to 12.30. All
welcome from babies to pre-schoolers accompanied by an adult. The
fee per family per session is 3Euro and this includes tea and light
refreshments for adults and children.
For the children there are lots of opportunities to interact with
other children, which helps build their confidence and develop social
skills, and is a fantastic stepping stone in preparing a child for
crèche, playgroup or pre-school. There are toys, books, jig-saws
to play with and regular activities include arts and crafts, music,
singing, dancing and storytelling. There are tricycles, bicycles and
tractors available in a large play space. For the adults the Group
offers a forum to meet others in a similar situation, chat, share
experiences, receive support and develop friendships. Anyone requiring

ENROLMENT MORNING
The West Offaly Education Project will hold an enrolment morning and
evening in Colaiste Naomh Cormac, Kilcormac on Thursday, 9th of September
from 11.00am – 1.00pm and Thursday evening at 7.30pm. For further

BALLYBOY THRESHING
A date for your diary – Sunday 19th September, the 10th annual
Threshing Festival in Ballyboy takes place. The venue is, as usual,
Peter Bracken’s field and all activities kick-off at 12noon.
Further details later. Meetings take place each Wed. night in Dan
and Mollys, and if interested in the Threshing Festival, you are welcome
to attend.
KILCORMAC/KILLOUGHEY GOLF SOCIETY
The next outing for the K.K. Golf Society is on Saturday 4th September.
This is the Captain's (Tom Moylan) Prize and, being the most important
competition of the year, a large turnout is expected. The outing is
to Portumna Golf Club and the tee is reserved from 10.00a.m. to 11.30a.m.
RACE
NIGHT
A Race Night will take place in the Blueball on Fri. 17th September.
This is a fundraiser in aid of sending an Irish Team to the World
Downs Syndrome Games in Taiwan in October. Cards are on sale for horses,
races, jockeys etc. and all your generous support will be greatly
appreciated.
K.D.A. LOTTO
No winner of the Jackpot. Nos. drawn were 5,12,20,27. There were three
match 3’s, each receiving €70, Peter and Phil Costello,
Nora Carroll and Mary Heffernan. Promoters prize Y & D & H.
