Ballyboy High Mileage

The group will meet in Dan & Molloy’s Pub on Thursday 29th October at 4:30pm.

Bord na Mona – Pensioner’s Association

Mass will be offered for deceased colleagues in the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore on Thursday 5th November at 12 noon.

Kilcormac Women’s Group

The KWG monthly meeting will take place on Tuesday 3rd November at 8pm. At 8:30pm Christina will be giving a demonstration on how to use ready to roll fondant icing for Christmas cake decorations. All welcome to attend.

Halloween Disco

Celebrate Halloween with your children in a fun and safe environment at our disco in St. Joseph’s Community Centre on Friday 30th October from 6:00pm – 7:00pm. For children aged 0-12years. Fancy dress disco €5 per child or €10 per family. Free Treat bags, Free tea/ coffee for the adults. Come along and join the fun.

Connecting People Connecting Places – Public Meeting

The public meeting called to see what ideas people had to boost Kilcormac and the opportunities that are on our doorstep was very well attended on Thursday 15th of October last. Following a very open and frank meeting where all attending expressed both the positives and negatives about the area and came up with some very worthwhile and thought provoking ideas it was decided that the group would meet again to try and progress some of the ideas further. The next meeting is on Thursday 5th November 2015 at 8.30pm in St. Joseph’s Community Centre and again anyone still interested in attending are very welcome to come along on the night.

Care of the Feet

The chiropodist will be in St. Joseph’s Community Centre on Wednesday from 10am – 1pm.

Kilcormac Men’s Shed

Kilcormac Men’s Shed had a general meeting last Thursday night, 22nd October. We had our best turnout to date and there were numerous suggestions for projects in our community. We are very thankful for the support and good will from our community. We would especially like to thank Kilcormac Development Association and Offaly Local Development Company for their continued help and support. We are looking forward to getting stuck in over the coming months. If you would like to be part of the shed call into us any Monday or Thursday evening after 7pm. Four Seasons Garden Club

On Thursday 12th November are going to Fernhill Garden Centre, Athlone for the launch of their Christmas Fair. The bus will be leaving the Square Kilcormac at 5:30pm sharp, the bus fare is €8. Names as soon as possible to Eileen 057 91 35152 or 086 8417617 or Rose 085 1596689.

Benefit Night

Benefit night in aid of Tina Saddler on Saturday 7th November in Feighery’s Pub from 9:30pm. The theme for this benefit night is PINK, so think pink for your clothes or accessories. With music by various bands on the night, this promises to be a fun night for a worthy cause and we hope to see you there. Tickets €5

Social Dance – we just love to dance

Line and Sequence Dancing in St. Joseph’s Community Centre on Friday 30th October from 8:30pm – 10:30pm, admission €5. Everybody is welcome, old, young, two left feet, single, married, beginners. It doesn’t matter we have a light hearted atmosphere and like to enjoy ourselves, no dance partner needed

Kilcormac Men’s Shed

The Men’s Shed are meeting on Mondays from 6:30pm and Thursday 5pm onwards. All very welcome to attend, for more information call 087 9689029.

Kilcormac Walking Club

Kilcormac Walking Club are still meeting every Tuesday and Thursday evening in Lough Boora Parklands. The meeting point is the old bicycle hire area. Why not join us any evening, no need to pre-book, just turn up, we leave on the walk promptly at 7:30pm each evening so just make sure you’re there in time to join the group. All welcome. Set Dancing in Dan & Molly’s Ballyboy every Sunday night from 9pm – all welcome.

County and Western Dance in Dan and Molly’s Ballyboy, every Wednesday night at 9pm. So if you want to learn a new step or just brush up on jive, waltz, quick step, foxtrot or line dances. Come along you are guaranteed a great night out.

Rí Rá Parent & Toddler Group

Due to the mid-term break, the group will not be meeting on Thursday 28th October, our next day to meet in on Thursday 5th November from 11am – 12:30pm in St. Joseph’s Community Centre. It is for children aged 0-5years, €3 per family.

Kilcormac Annual Christmas Fair

This great annual event will take place on Friday 4th December from 5pm to 9pm in the Community Centre, Kilcormac. Event organisers, Kilcormac Community Childcare are already busy ensuring that this years event is bigger and better than ever.  Lots of local grown enterprises and craft providers will be displaying their goods and services. Santa will be visiting his grotto and there will be plenty of local entertainment. Please put this date in your diary.

Killoughey Community Alert

Killoughey Community Alert committee met to assess the progress of the community alert project.  Signage announcing the parish is a community alert area are erected at most of the entrance roads to the parish and some of the major internal junctions.  The text alert system is up and running and by most accounts is functioning well.  If you have applied for the text messages and are not receiving them, or would like to get on the system, please contact Danny Owens, 0871271526, or Jim Casey, 0863852725.  Personal alarms have been installed in many of the homes that requested them.  Again, If you have not received yours, or did not apply for one and would like to do so, please contact Danny or Jim.  The next project the committee is undertaking is to print a flyer with important community and emergency numbers.  The last listing was printed before the change from 0506 to 057 93.  If you have suggestions for inclusions please contact Imelda Rosney, Danny or Jim.

Basic Internet Classes

If there are enough people interested to form a class, Ballycommon Telework and Training Centre Ltd. will run a class in Kilcormac in the coming months for Basic Internet skills. If you are interested please call Roisin or Aising at 057 9153177/057 9153441.

Guitar Lessons

Guitar lessons with Daithi Melia will take place in Kilcormac Childcare on Wednesday evenings from 5.45pm. Each lessons has a group of 4/5 others, lessons lasting 45 minutes and costing €10 per person. Beginners and experienced students welcome. Please contact 086 8914392 for more details.

ECDL for students

The widely sought after ECDL course is being offered in Kilcormac Childcare Centre from Wednesday 4th November.  This course will run over 18 weeks from 7pm to 9.45pm covering six modules.  Price is €245 which includes exams and laptops will be provided. Halloween Camp

Halloween camp for National School age children will take place on Wed 28th, Thurs 29th and Fri 30th October in Kilcormac Afterschool. €9 per day or €25 for all three days. Booking is essential. This promises to be a fun filled camp.  Contact 086 2679419 to register and for any further details.
