KILCORMAC C.C.E ON CROSS BORDER VISIT
As part of cross Border support for the Forum for Peace and Reconciliation members of Kilcormac Branch CCE recently travelled to Loughbeg in Co. Antrim. The group, who were joined by members of Brosna Branch CCE, travelled on the weekend of 1st March. They were joined by over forty musicians, of all ages, from all over the north of Ireland, and a monster traditional session, lasting until the early hours, was held in Crosskeys, Co. Antrim.
This visit was organised by Kilcormac CCE last July when Loughbeg branch CCE were invited to Kilcormac for the Leinster Fleadh Cheoil. The local branch, in conjunction with co-operation North, hope to continue their ties with the north and hope to invite more Northern Ireland branches of CCE to Kilcormac in the future.
The weekend was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who travelled, and Kilcormac CCE would like to thank the members, and musicians of Brosna CCE who travelled with them.
