Martin McHugh – Benefit Night.

Kinnitty Community Centre – Wednesday 30th December 2015 – 8pm.

Members of Ballyboy and Birr Comhaltas branches are presently finalising details for a major fundraising concert featuring some of the best known musicians and singers in the Midlands to be held in Kinnitty Community Centre on Wednesday 30th December at 8pm. This will be a unique opportunity to see an array of Offaly’s top performers at this beautiful venue. Martin McHugh, who is a fond lover of Traditional Irish music, has received many awards and accolades over the years as a Bodhrán player, tutor and friend to young and old in the Irish music circles. He is a prominent feature at the Slieve Bloom Sessions and many more over the last number of years since he moved to Ireland from his native Glasgow. Up to recently Martin was the Senior Bodhrán Tutor with Ballyboy C.C.E. Music School. He has unfortunately been diagnosed with a serious illness and is at present receiving treatment at St Luke’s Hospital, Dublin. This illness has put a major financial and emotional strain on Martin and his family. Tickets for the concert will be available from Tuesday 15th December from Ballyboy and Birr C.C.E. committee members, also Paddy Buckley, David, Padráigh or James Kinsella and Sean Browne (Singing Circle). Please support this worthy cause; these tickets will definitely make a great Christmas stocking filler. All information on the concert, artists and tickets etc. can be got from David Kinsella 087 6567238 or Paddy Buckley 087 6772303.
