- Published on Tuesday, 14 May 2013 12:21
Ballyboy CCE and the KDA would like to thank everyone who contributed to a very successful Fleadh Cheoil and Gathering Festival last weekend. The music, song and dance were in abundance and as is the tradition all events were very well supported by the whole community. Although weather wasn't particularly kind, all of the festival events went ahead and there was a very good turnout for all the activities.
A particular word of thanks is extended to all the stewards who came on board both Saturday and Sunday and put in very long days to keep the whole event running smoothly. Thanks to the Gardai, Clergy, Civil Defence, Catering, Sponsors, Advertisers and all those involved who are too many to name.

Rd 3 of the Minor Hurling Championship takes place on Saturday as does and under 10 blitz and the Under 16 FL finals. Sunday 19/5/ Junior A FBC R2 and Junior BC/ RD1.the U16 HL final is planned from Monday and MH final on Wednesday 22/5/13 and an U12 F mini-league. This is taken from the county board master plan and may be subject to change.

The club has purchased lights which will facilitate evening training during the long winters and dark evenings. It is planned to erect them at the Mount Bolus pitch. Both pitches have suffered with poor weather conditions and over use and over the coming weeks remedial work will be carried out to try and improve the playing surface at both venues.
Congratulations to facilitators of the Offaly Fleadh which was held in Kilcormac at the week-end and it's great to see the KK flags still in use. Well done to all our underage players who made their Holy Communion at the week-end.
